How funny! Ellie made the blog! Haha! You have a beautiful family, and you are as fun as I imagined! We really enjoyed our time with you guys and can't wait to hook up again! Next time, in your neck of the woods!
Such a sweet picture! Looks like you had a wonderful visit with the Woods! I'm so anxiously looking forward to getting moved. It's heavenly to know that with a destination in sight and a little planning, and a little gas in the tank, we can load up the family enroute to visit the many friends I've made along the way on this adoption journey. Road trips are definitely in my future!! I'm glad we'll be so much closer. (Here in Alaska I'd have to drive for days straight before I even hit the lower 48 states.)
The most amazing phone call that we ever received came on September 11, 2007. Our social worker in Overland Park, KS had a conference call with Rena in Salina, KS and myself, Nate, in Kansas City, MO, about four siblings in Bogota, Colombia, South America. We got a referral that ended our deferred hope.
It had to be a God-thing; I think it happened inside of five seconds. We looked at their picture and they went from being strangers to being the most beautiful children in the world! They immediately stole our hearts! We were hooked for life. We were theirs and they were ours. What seemed like countless hours of preparation and years of prayer became flesh and fabric.
